Official Philanthropy: Suicide Awareness

Suicide prevention was introduced to the Gustavus campus by the TMs and has become an annual spring event.  Each year we table outside the cafeteria, handing out pamphlets of information and yellow ribbons. We have displays of memorial markers outside the campus center to mark the number of young adults who commit suicide each day.  We also hold various reflection events, such as a candlelight vigil and benefit dinner.  Our benefit dinner raises money for the organization SAVE (Suicide Awareness Voices of Education). In the fall, we set up a booth at Mental Health and Wellness fair at the local community center here in Saint Peter.
